On April 29, 2021, the Ukrainian National Doctoral School INTENSE has launched a series of open science-policy seminars. Their aim is to highlight and promote the INTENSE Doctoral School in Ukraine, to consolidate the national INTENSE community, and to provide networking opportunities to students and their supervisors. A particular feature of the series is its focus on policy-relevant environmental issues, and involvement of policy-makers and practitioners as well as academics. In academic years 2020/21 and 2021/22 the series is hosted by Kharkiv V.N.Karazin National University. The inauguration event of the series had coincided with its annual International Scientific-and-Practical Conference ‘Environmental Science, Environmental Control and Sustainable Environmental Management: Education – Science – Production – 2021’ that was also co-organised by the Jean Monnet action INENCY implemented by the University. So far the following events of the series took place:
- May 28, 2021 – ‘Green & Blue Infrastructure in Post-USSR Cities: exploring legacies and connecting to V4 experience’ (co-organised by the Visegrad Fund project GAP)
- April 29-30, 2021 – International Scientific-and-Practical Conference ‘Environmental Science, Environmental Control and Sustainable Environmental Management: Education – Science – Production – 2021’ – the inaugural event (co-organised by the Jean Monnet action INENCY)
