The National INTENSE Doctoral School in Mongolia

The National INTENSE Doctoral School in Mongolia has been established on April 26, 2019 through an Agreement on joint PhD training signed by National University of Mongolia (NUM) and Khovd State University (KHU). On April 24, 2021, representatives of academic units hosting the School have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a representative of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) with a scope of involving this University to the INTENSE School. This cooperation has been launched within a broader collaborative framework that was set up by the Ulaanbaatar-based universities in 2020 in order to facilitate an access of their students to learning and research opportunities of each other. The MoU is also referring to the foundation Agreement of the INTENSE Doctoral School in Mongolia that is outlining details of cooperation modalities (both the agreement on INTENSE and the agreement on collaboration of Ulaanbaatar-based universities are annexed to the MoU).

The founding members together with the acceding member are also working on a more detailed framework for their joint cooperation over the INTENSE School, and on formalising ties with the international INTENSE network. The INTENSE program at NUM is hosted by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Department of Environmental and Forest Engineering) in cooperation with the School of Arts and Sciences. The hosting academic unit at MULS is the School of Agroecology.
